ENCODE opens its doors
The 2nd Knowledge Society and Citizenship Event, promoted by the Consejería de Innovación, Ciencia y Empresa de la Junta de Andalucía or CICE (Andalusian Regional ministry for Innovation, Science and Business) and sponsored by the Red de Espacios Tecnológicos de Andalucía or RETA (Andalusian Network of technological spaces), opens its doors today 29th of November to promote citizenship participation in the society that surrounds us, under the subject: The citizen, key feature for a possible future.
Follow the content for ENCODE 2007 and remember that, after the 29th and 30th November, you will be able to obtain information on everything that has taken place.
Al Gore receives the Nobel Peace Prize
The former US vice-president, Al Gore, and the U.N, ´s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for Climatic Change were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on the 12th October 2007.
Al Gore attended the last edition of ENCODE, where he had previously discussed the problems relating to global warming, and where he urged citizens to reflect on this theme and its link with renewable growth.
Changing your present today is changing the future for everyone. This year ENCODE takes place once more in the Palacio de Ferias & Congresos in Malaga on the 29th and 30th November. An event which will examine the social, environmental, political and economic challenges from the citizen´s standpoint as proposed by the society of knowledge, within a global setting.
Kofi Annan to take part in ENCODE 2007 in Malaga
In his first visit to Spain since relinquishing the post as secretary general to the U.N.
The former leader of the United Nations and Nobel Peace laureate will participate as a speaker in the Knowledge Society and Citizenship event (ENCODE) on the 29th and 30th November, 2007.
Malaga repeats the hosting of ENCODE with this new edition

ENCODE 2007 is the Knowledge Society and Citizenship event promoted by the “Consejeria de Innovacion, Ciencia y Empresa de la Junta de Andalucia (Regional ministry for Innovation, Science and Business of the Junta de Andalucia) and sponsored by the Red de Technologicos de Andalucia RETA(Andalusian network of technological spaces). Once again the everyday citizen is the focus, main feature and the audience.
Roberta Menchú Tum confirms her assistance

The Nobel Peace Laureate, from Guatemala, will attend ENCODE 2007 and will share her knowledge of human and civil rights with the general public and participants alike. Knowledgeable in social struggles and directly involved with the rights of indigenous people, she founded the Roberta Menchú Tum Foundation in 2003.
Bob Geldof to participate in ENCODE 2007

Bob Geldof will join Kofi Annan as a speaker at the second knowledge society and Citizenship event.
Both the Nobel peace laureate Rigoberta Menchú and the president of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy, Hernando de Soto, will take part in the event.
Sustainable Development debated
During the last couple of years a manifesto has been proposed for an innovative and practical approach to sustainable development. ENCODE 2007 will analyze the most relevant questions related to current environmental crisis, including global warming.
